A neighborhood shop without four walls

Good pizza.
Old-friend energy.

Old Friend started with a simple conviction: the best neighborhood food doesn’t need to wait for the perfect storefront.

Dad's Pesto Detroit-style pizza from Old Friend

Meet Alden

Made slowly.
Shared freely.

Alden makes every pan from scratch: a three-day fermented dough, sauce built on Jersey tomatoes, and a cheddar-and-mozzarella crown that caramelizes against the steel pan.

In summer 2026, Old Friend grew from one-off pop-ups into regular service across Roslindale—first at the Exodus Bagels Airstream, then a residency at The Substation, with appearances at the Roslindale Farmers Market and events around the neighborhood.

The format moves. The promise doesn’t: thoughtful ingredients, big crunch, and the kind of welcome you get from somebody who already knows your name.

What matters

The Old Friend way.

01

Time is an ingredient.

The dough gets three full days to develop flavor, structure, and an airy interior.

02

Edges are the main event.

Cheese runs all the way to the steel pan for a crisp, caramelized crown on every slice.

03

Local tastes better.

Seasonal specials and neighborhood collaborations keep the menu connected to Roslindale.

04

Everyone gets a seat.

Pop-ups, pickup, delivery, catering, and gluten-free options make the table a little bigger.
